Three friends think aloud about which information they would put on Grindr, an online dating platform. Do their bodies rather resemble ‘otters’ or ‘bears’? Are they looking for a ‘relationship’ or ‘right now’?
Thinking aloud about these various categories makes us wonder about their significance for finding online or real life ‘matches’. Juxtaposed with imagery of rural German landscapes and family attractions such as animal parks (starring real otters), the film asks for the origins and alterations of subcultural terminologies.
